Yaz, with a generic name of Ocella, is an oral contraceptive used by women across the United States and all around the world. Yaz is marketed to be 99% effective in terms of preventing pregnancy, is advertised to be the only form of birth control that can treat premenstrual dysphoric disorder, and is even believed to help limit acne.

Over the years, Yaz has been under heavy scrutiny due to possible serious side effects such as DVT or deep vein thrombosis, PE or pulmonary embolism, stroke, heart attack, gall bladder disease, blood clots, kidney failure, liver failure, pancreatitis, and death.
