According to AT&T, teenagers text on average 60 times a day — and a lot of that texting happens behind the wheel of a car.

A survey conducted by the company found that while 97 percent of teens know that it’s dangerous to text and drive, almost half admit to doing it anyway.

That’s why AT&T has started an aggressive campaign to raise awareness called “Texting & Driving…It Can Wait.” A distracted driving simulator is part of that program.

Last Friday, AT&T brought the simulator to the campus of Stanton College Preparatory School in Jacksonville.

According to AT&T representatives, the 100 days between Memorial Day and Labor Day are the deadliest days on the road for teen drivers.

Our Treasure Coast auto accident attorneys urge all Florida drivers to stay focused while driving.
